SAP Solution Manager (SSM) includes tools for solution monitoring on IT operational and business levels. On the business level, business executives can evaluate the process maturity by KPI monitoring. Process transparency is improved and business decisions are accelerated. The achieved performance quality can be visualized with dashboards offering drill-down functionality for detailed process KPI analysis.

SSM solution monitoring integrates all SAP® and non-SAP® systems in the IT landscape. The presentation of monitoring results can be flexibly adapted to the client´s operational, application and business support process structures.

The SSM can be configured to process and forward monitoring results to the 2nd level support, the Program and Application Management and process stakeholders over various communication channels like

  • SMS and email notifications
  • service messages in Service Desk
  • controlling dashboards in the SAP® Work Centers
  • SLA Reporting

TransWare offers the implementation of IT operational monitoring bundled with the Basic Installation and Integration Service Package. The implementation of business activity monitoring requires a project frame to account for the individual requirements of the client’s business processes and KPIs.

Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)

BAM requires the existence of a so-called SSM solution which represents the operational business processes in the IT landscape. SSM has a library of predefined KPI monitor types that allow the inspection of process steps for specific criteria, e.g. “open sales documents” in a business process.

It is possible to define custom KPI monitors to capture specific KPIs.
